My clients were stopped for an alleged traffic offense on October 8 with associated circumstances of the claim of a traffic violation. Those bolded persons were officers on the scene and attempted to perform their jobs professionally. Jameson Williams, a self-identified Lions player who consistently stated he was a member of the team during the stop’s body camera footage, was arrested and placed in police custody in the back of a squad car.
“An arrest warrant was available to the officers, and, the patrol officer placed him under arrest,”. Detroit Police Commander Michael McGinnis stated to WXYZ-TV. “And as a consequence of that, he should have been taken to the Detroit Detention Center and booked.”
Nevertheless, a supervisor and then later, a sergeant, came to the scene and Williams was set free after the sergeant placed several calls to superiors to seek guidance about arresting Williams or whether the concealed weapon permit retrieved belonged to his brother and covered both weapons. In the end, he called a lieutenant whose voice is not present in the body a camera about the comments and Williams was removed from handcuffs and order. It was reported here that no police report on the traffic stop was prepared by the police on Andrew.
Asked about this situation, a deputy chief in the department informed WXYZ-TV that only one weapon was in the vehicle. But later, after hearing about the weapon in the vehicle. Chief James White supplied fragments of the body camera video to the channel and waited for the investigation.
