The Miami Dolphins ended their three-game winless streak on Monday by defeating the Los Angeles Rams 23-15 in SoFi stadium, Inglewood, California.
The match commenced with the Miami Dolphins opening the scoring on less than a 3-minute drive that moved the ball 70 yards downfield. Rookie Malik Washington, making his first NFL career touchdown, rushed for 18 yards on the play.
In the third quarter, Tyreek Hill reassured himself by catching a pass from Tua Tagovailoa for the latter striker’s second touchdown of the season, breaking a seven-game drought where Hill did not score a single touchdown, making the score 17-6 which was the Miami Dolphins’ advantage that was never covered. As a result, the Rams had their three-game winning streak cut off. Miami’s Jason Sanders was flawless on all of his field goal attempts – three in total.
Tagovailoa stated, “We are stronger as a team, and this is a mark of our character.” “We were shut out for however many games straight, and we have come through a lot to get where we are now, which is remarkable. The grit of this team, despite all the external negativity and everyone who wrote us off.
Miami Dolphins
“I hope this is one chance that we do not throw away. With this win, I hope we can start utilizing this momentum to go on a winning streak and get into a flow at the business end of the season.”
Last year, with a trip to the playoffs, the Miami Dolphins were disappointed when Tagovailoa went down with a concussion against the Buffalo Bills in week 2. He was out of action for four consecutive matches, where the Miami Dolphins won once out of the four matches.
Tagovailoa returned before the Week 10 matchup and the Miami Dolphins had been 0-2 ever since, losing the last two on-field goals that came from the last play of the game.
Nonetheless, the Miami Dolphins are still in the hunt for the playoffs despite having lost the first six of the seasons, they managed to win against Detroit on Monday, raising their overall record to 3-6. They sit second in the AFC East and are 1 and a half games behind the last wild card spot in the conference.
Matthew Stafford
In the game played on Monday, the Miami Dolphins squad was able to prevent the Rams led by Matthew Stafford from scoring even once throughout the game while successfully sacking the quarterback four times during the match. He had 293 passing yards at the completion of the game, attempting 46 passes in total with 32 attempts being successful while one of them was an interception.
Speaking about the loss, Stafford thought that: “It was just negative plays at the wrong times.” There’s a turnover, there’s going to be a sack, there’s going to be some inefficient first down play or whatever it was. There’s a purple patch where we shot ourselves in the foot, a little bit in that zone, 30 yards line area. That probably was the reason why we were unable to win the game and due to the inability to score any touchdowns.”

To maintain a competitive position within the game, Los Angeles’ rookie kicker, Joshua Karty, made three out of five of his field goals attempting to close the gap for the Rams. Nevertheless, after Karty’s success in kicking a 22-yard field goal which cut the deficit to one score, the Miami Dolphins retained the ball by recovering an onside kick attempt by the opponents and hence secured victory in the match.
“I think I speak for every critical player. To snap the losing streak, including me, it only takes one spark to light up a wildfire,” Miami Dolphins Interpreter and defensive tackle Calais Campbell said of the losing streak coming to an end. “It’s an optimistic moment, though; I think we just gotta keep believing, keep fighting and keep going for it.”
The next opponents for the Raiders will be the Miami Dolphins (3-6) who have a noted win to play against the last players the Raiders lost to, while the Rams (4-5) will also away play the Patriots (3-7) on Sunday, November 17.
